Community Clubs, like Heatherton United S.C. rely heavily on the the work of volunteers, (mainly parents) with some additional financial help from sponsors to cover the "basics" our kids require to play during the season, as our fees cover only "so much". (Replacing Nets, bibs, balls, additions to team kits - jackets, etc.)
PARENTS & VOLUNTEERS
Firstly, I would like to thank the parents for their support throughout the season. Sunday mornings & match days simply would not happen without your "bit". Many a Sunday mornings, start with unlocking gates, opening shed & equipment locker, dragging equipment to the pitch, measuring & marking out pitches, moving & setting goals, and of course, game leading (referee duties).
For the Under 7's group a special thanks to Ozzie, Tarik and coach Arif for early morning set-up, marking out grounds and game leading.
For the Under 9's group, a big thanks to 3 dads in particular, Denijal, (almost always the first dad to turn up), Izudin & Mehmed who often shared game leader / referee duties; and ofcourse coach Michael.
A very special thanks to all the mums that kept our boys warm and fed, helped out in the canteen, and of course CHEERED our boys on!
CO-ORDINATORS & COACHES
Saban (Juniors Co-ordinator) has long time experience at our club as a player & coach.
Michael (Coach U9's), also with lifelong & international experience as a player and specialising in "Goal Keeping" has been an invaluable asset to our club.
Arif (Coach U7's), has played for Heatherton since its "early days", and is passionate about the club, and our "Juniors" in particular.
This season I was particularly impressed by Saban's Guidance, and Michael's Coaching where the older boys that were able to take up more advanced "set play" attacking pieces.
Michaels passion and "no nonsense" attitude / approach certainly paid off with a season of straight convincing wins.

As well as chipping in for the "basics" quite often our sponsors are involved in funding capital works projects around the club, such as the Childrens Playground.
