Heatherton United Under 10's team lead by their coach Mahir Mandzic visited Bentleigh Greens SC on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in what was their first away game of the season. The weather conditions were perfect for a football game and it showed straight away. Both teams started brightly, but Heatherton boys took control of the game early on and played really well. This domination resulted in their first goal of the season when Edin chipped the home goalkeeper.
Our boys continued to play well, but Bentleigh managed to exploit a couple of mistakes in our defence and score two goals before the half time.
In the second half Heatherton boys pressed and worked really hard to equalise, but had no luck in front of the goal. Countless shots went either right next to the post or straight at the keeper. As always in football if you don't take your chances the opposition will and that is what happened in this game too. Towards the end of the game Bentleigh added two more goals to their scoreboard and sealed their win.
Our boys can be proud of their performance and should try to build on it in their next game at home against Caulfield Cobras SC.
